The Seaforth Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Grace Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Seaforth didn't have too much trouble with Southeast Raleigh on the road as they won 57-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Seaforth.
Seaforth relied on the efforts of Gabby White , who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds, and Katie Leonard, who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which White has scored at least 25% of Seaforth's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Ajayi, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Grace Christian put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Clarksville Christian with points to spare, taking the game 56-39. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 13 to 2 on the offensive boards, as Grace Christian did.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Sarah Strong and Lauren Hassell. Strong had a great game and dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. Meanwhile, Hassell did her best for the losing side, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
Seaforth was dealt a bruising 85-43 defeat at the hands of Grace Christian in their previous meeting back in January. Can Seaforth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
