After flying high against the Prince of Peace Prep Irish on Thursday, the West Carroll Thunder came back down to earth. West Carroll fell 46-38 to Dakota on Saturday.
Dakota's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Finley Banks, who scored 15 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora Ingram, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
West Carroll has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Dakota, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
West Carroll will head out on the road to face off against Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fulton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Dakota, they will be playing in front of their home fans against River Ridge/Scales Mound at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. River Ridge/Scales Mound presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dakota in Illinois (River Ridge/Scales Mound is ranked 207th, while Dakota is ranked 492nd).
