Jacksonville Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
When it comes to explaining why Jacksonville Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Rice. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Rice continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Evans, who scored eight points along with nine assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Jacksonville Christian Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Luke Boush, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and ten rebounds for Southside Christian. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Boush has scored at least a third of Southside Christian's points. Ethan Evans was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Jacksonville Christian Academy's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Southside Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-9.
Jacksonville Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Mariners at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Pamlico Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Southside Christian, they will be playing at home against the Cyclones at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
