The Escondido Cougars lost against the Valley Center Jaguars back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Escondido suffered a rough 65-43 defeat at the hands of the Jaguars. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Escondido in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Yoder, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Yoder hasn't dropped below 18 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Kevin Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Escondido has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Valley Center, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escondido will take on the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Pasqual is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Valley Center, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Fallbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Jaguars likes a good challenge.
