The Putnam County War Eagles put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 76-69 victory over Greene County. Given Putnam County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Greene County is ranked 308th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Landon Bonner, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Putnam County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashod Daniel, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Putnam County's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Greene County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Putnam County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Greene County at 7:30 p.m. As for Greene County, they will head out on the road to face off against Putnam County at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Putnam County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
