Meeker is 3-0 against Star-Spencer since October of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Meeker Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Star-Spencer Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Meeker will be strutting in after a win while Star-Spencer will be coming in after a loss.
Meeker fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 24-17 victory over Crossings Christian on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meeker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Treyvon Compton, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 217 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes. Ajay Lynch was another key contributor, rushing for 141 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Star-Spencer came up short against Chandler on Friday and fell 23-14. While losing is never fun, Star-Spencer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Chandler is ranked 46th).
Despite the loss, Star-Spencer saw an underclassman step up: Braylon Lassitier threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns.
Meeker now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Star-Spencer, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Meeker against Star-Spencer in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-0 win. Does Meeker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Star-Spencer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
