Everything went their way against First Academy as Community Christian Academy made off with a 63-42 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Community Christian Academy has managed all season.
Community Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Kylin McDonald, who scored 35 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which McDonald has scored at least a third of Community Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Beau Moore, who scored 15 points.
Despite the defeat, First Academy had strong showings from Jakson Bounds, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Logan James, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bounds has scored all season.
Even though they lost, First Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win makes it two in a row for Community Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-5. As for First Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Christian Academy will take on St. Teresa's Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. First Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against CHESS Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
