Denver West had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They took down the DSST: Conservatory Green Hornets 72-57. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Hornets are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah Parker, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. Parker's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Jaheim Taylor was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 20 boards.

When it comes to explaining why DSST: Conservatory Green lost, don't look at Davon Allen. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 21 on his way to 28 points. Those 28 points gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Bradford, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Denver West pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for DSST: Conservatory Green, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
