The Ravenscroft Ravens will take on the Durham Academy Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Ravenscroft and Wake Christian Academy, and Ravenscroft kept the tradition alive. Ravenscroft came out on top against Wake Christian Academy by a score of 6-1 on Friday.

Matthew Hutter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Matt Ulicny was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Ravenscroft: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Reed Holt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Durham Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 12-7 to Jordan. One positive for the Cavaliers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Amare Burrus was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Kuo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Durham Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Ravenscroft, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.
Durham Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Ravenscroft has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Durham Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Ravenscroft keep running through batters, or will Durham Academy buck the trend?
Everything went Ravenscroft's way against Durham Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Ravenscroft made off with an 8-1 win. Will Ravenscroft repeat their success, or does Durham Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
