The Wetumpka Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Helena Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Wetumpka nor Helena posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
Last Friday, Wetumpka was the victim of a tough 28-7 loss at the hands of Central of Clay County. While losing is never fun, Wetumpka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Central of Clay County is ranked 16th).
Meanwhile, Helena fell victim to Vestavia Hills' stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Rebels 44-0. Helena has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
The losses dropped Wetumpka to 5-5 and Helena to 8-2.
Wetumpka came up short against Helena in their previous matchup back in September of 2021, falling 20-10. Can Wetumpka avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
