On Friday, Spring suffered a rough 52-31 defeat at the hands of Allen. While losing is never fun, Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Allen is ranked 33rd).
Defeat or not, Spring got some senior leadership from Za'Kenya Thompson who scored 11 points and Jada Thomas who scored 9 points. Thompson scored a full 35.5% of Spring's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Spring's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-5. As for Allen, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Spring will be playing at home against The Woodlands at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Allen, they will face off against North Shore at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
