Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Boone Grove). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tri-Township Tigers  a   13-0 shutout  on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the  season.
 Amanda Powell was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  double and one  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Mercedes Szakacs and  Maria Otero did most of the damage at the plate:  Szakacs  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base, while  Otero  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  Otero has posted since back in April of 2024.  Grace Minder was another key player,  earning two  runs and two  stolen bases.
 Boone Grove was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .520. They are 4-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Boone Grove's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-9. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-Township,  they are  on  a  13-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
 Boone Grove and Tri-Township could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Wolves (ranked 97th) will meet New Prairie (ranked 29th)  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile,  Tri-Township will  square off against  Rensselaer Central  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  disadvantage  (349 vs. 160).
