The Fox Creek Predators will head out to take on the Wagener-Salley War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fox Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
While Fox Creek's win against Newberry wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Predators skirted past the Bulldogs 14-12. The Predators haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Emma Widener and Addie Woodward did most of the damage at the plate: Widener went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Woodward went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI were Woodward's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alana Kate Henderson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fox Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Wagener-Salley made sure to put some runs up on the board against North on Tuesday. The War Eagles were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Eagles. The War Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kylee Hooker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Ra'Ziyah Ackies was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Makenley Walling was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Fox Creek now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wagener-Salley, their record now sits at 3-5.
Fox Creek beat Wagener-Salley 6-2 in their previous matchup last Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Predators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
