Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Cooper

Cooper won the last time they faced Como-Pickton, and Marilynn Wilkerson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cooper Bulldogs took down the Como-Pickton Eagles 45-30 on Friday thanks in part to Wilkerson, who went 9 of 18 on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Leddy Murray, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Cooper, bringing their record for this year to 9-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Como-Pickton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Cooper will head out to take on Daingerfield at 12:15 p.m. on December 28th. Cooper is facing Daingerfield at the right time seeing as Daingerfield is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Como-Pickton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-23 win against Fannindel on the 26th.
