Baseball Recap: Ledyard Has No Trouble Against Lyman Memorial

Ledyard's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs as they made off with a 12-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Colonels needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Jack Leaf was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Leaf was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Cameron Weber was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Trent Burke, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Ledyard back to even at 1-1. As for Lyman Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Ledyard is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Stonington at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Lyman Memorial, they will welcome Windham RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
