The Goshen Central Gladiators will venture away from home to take on the Cornwall Central Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Goshen Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Goshen Central barely beat Pine Bush the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Gladiators put the hurt on the Bushmen with a sharp 12-2 win on Thursday. The Gladiators have beaten the Bushmen the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bushmen has come to flipping the script.

Addison Freiberger was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Freiberger was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bailey Gomulka was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Jordan, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Goshen Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Cornwall Central started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Valley Central. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by exactly three runs.
Goshen Central's record is now 6-3. As for Cornwall Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Everything went Goshen Central's way against Cornwall Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Goshen Central made off with an 8-1 victory. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
