Football Recap: Tarboro Takes Down Wilson Prep in a Playoff Battle

Tarboro had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Wilson Prep Tigers, posting a 59-6 win. Considering the Vikings have won 12 games by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kamerin McDowell-Moore was his usual excellent self, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also picking up 53 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest reception was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Another back making a difference was Caiden Everette, who rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Tarboro's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Wilson Prep's QB won't forget Tyler Powell anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Tarboro pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Wilson Prep, with the loss, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2.

Tarboro will take on Corvian Community in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st. Corvian Community will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Tarboro surely won't give up without a fight. Wilson Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
