West Broward had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Southridge Spartans 30-27. The Bobcats are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.
One reason for the win was West Broward's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Jason (Bam) Farfan was especially locked on to Southridge's QB and sacked him three times. West Broward got some further help from Tyler Tindel: he picked up a sack, made 18 total tackles, and defended one pass.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Perrone, who threw for 368 yards and three TDs while completing 71.8% of his passes. 101 of Perrone's passing yards were hauled in by Jhakari Johnson, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
West Broward's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Southridge, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-2 record.
