There's no place like home for the Centennial Broncos, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They really took it to Heartland for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-23 victory at home. That looming 57-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Centennial yet this season.
It was another big night for Devin Slawnyk, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Alex Hirschfeld was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Heartland struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Heartland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Centennial will challenge Malcolm at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Heartland, they will be playing at home against Osceola at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Osceola will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Heartland surely won't give up without a fight.
