The North Yarmouth Academy Panthers will square off against the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Yarmouth Academy has three straight victories, Gray-New Gloucester has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Lewiston came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against North Yarmouth Academy, but Selena Nguyen wouldn't allow it. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Blue Devils on Tuesday with plenty of help from Nguyen, who had 16 digs and eight aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played.
North Yarmouth Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Lewiston into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-16, 25-16, 21-25, 15-12.
Meanwhile, Gray-New Gloucester didn't have quite enough to beat Wells back in September and fell 3-2.
Gray-New Gloucester actually scored more points across those five sets (109-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 20-25, 21-25, 25-21, 16-14.
North Yarmouth Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Gray-New Gloucester, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
