The Trego Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 47-37 to Phillipsburg. Trego has not had much luck with Phillipsburg recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Phillipsburg was led to victory by Rad Rodriguez and Caden Seems. Rodriguez scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Seems scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Rodriguez posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Rhett Shelton, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Trego bumped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Phillipsburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trego will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thomas More Prep-Marian at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Phillipsburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hoisington at 7:30 p.m.
