At the plate, Alejandro Oca?a made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Yahir Oca?a Monta?ez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Alamo Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against McKinney Boyd, falling 13-3.
Alamo Heights saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Spielhagen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Spielhagen posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
Alamo Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Veterans Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Veterans Memorial has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Alamo Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
