The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 60-21 victory over Twin River. The win was nothing new for Clarkson/Leigh as they're now sitting on four straight.
Clarkson/Leigh was led to victory by Baylee Settje and Chloe Hanel. Settje scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Hanel dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. That's the first time this season that Settje scored 15 or more points. Brynn Settje was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals and two blocks.
Clarkson/Leigh has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Twin River, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.
Clarkson/Leigh will square off against North Bend Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (North Bend Central is ranked 65th, while Clarkson/Leigh is ranked 59th). Twin River will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Howells-Dodge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Howells-Dodge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
