The Sidney Yellowjackets had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against Troy by a score of 40-29. Given Sidney's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Troy is ranked 576th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Troy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley King, who scored 11 points along with three steals, and Carmen Brooks who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season.
Troy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sidney is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Troy, they bumped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Sidney will take on Xenia at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Xenia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to challenge Tippecanoe at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
