Sadly, the Cristo Rey St. Viator Royals are still looking for their first win of the season after 12 matchups. They were beaten by Eldorado 79-14 on Tuesday. Cristo Rey St. Viator was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-7.
Eldorado's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert "RJ" Waddell, who scored 20 points along with seven steals. Waddell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamarion Durant, who scored 19 points along with five steals.
Cristo Rey St. Viator dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Eldorado, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Cristo Rey St. Viator will be playing at home against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Cristo Rey St. Viator comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Eldorado, they will head out on the road to take on Mater Academy East Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Eldorado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
