Baseball Recap: Obama Academy of International Studies Comes Up Short

After flying high against Brashear on April 7th, Obama Academy of International Studies came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Carrick Raiders by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Caleb Myers was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Obama Academy of International Studies' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Braylon Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Obama Academy of International Studies' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Carrick, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Obama Academy of International Studies beat the Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.
