The Davis Darts will head out to challenge the Ridgeline Riverhawks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Davis will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Davis is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Viewmont with a sharp 17-6 win on Wednesday. The Darts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Cambell Christensen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Christensen was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.
In other batting news, Davis got a massive performance out of Riley Jaques, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Hadlee Isaacs also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline beat Green Canyon 9-4 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Riverhawks.
Ridgeline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Gardiner, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kennedy Dahlke was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Ridgeline's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.5 runs this season. As for Davis, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Davis hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.3 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ridgeline struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Davis might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Ridgeline when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can Davis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
