In what's become a running theme this season, the Loch Raven Raiders gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Franklin with a sharp 54-31 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-9.
Leading Loch Raven to victory were Maya Gordon and Meona Boykin. Gordon dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Boykin scored 22 points along with five steals. Boykin hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Destaney Harris, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Loch Raven has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Franklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Loch Raven won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (North Point is ranked 64th, while the Raiders are ranked 65th). As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bluebirds at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
