After flying high against The Webb School Feet last Friday, The Goodpasture Christian Cougars came back down to earth. Goodpasture Christian was dealt a 54-10 loss at the hands of Davidson Academy on Friday. Goodpasture Christian has struggled against Davidson Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Davidson Academy found their leader in underclassman Caden Stroud, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Will Breece got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Goodpasture Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Davidson Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goodpasture Christian will face off against Battle Ground Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Davidson Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Christ Presbyterian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christ Presbyterian Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
