Minto is 8-2 against Tri-Valley since March of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Minto Lakers on the road again and play against the Tri-Valley Warriors on January 18th. Minto will be strutting in after a victory while Tri-Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
Minto put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 55-22 victory over Lumen Christi. Given Minto's advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Lumen Christi is ranked 53rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Andrew David, who scored 18 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeff Frank, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley pushed their score all the way to 65 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manokotak.
Minto's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Tri-Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Minto against Tri-Valley in their previous matchup last Friday as the squad secured a 78-34 victory. Does Minto have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tri-Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
