The Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars meant business on Tuesday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Crusaders squad that has allowed just 27.2 points per contest. Academy of the Holy Names strolled past Keswick Christian with points to spare, taking the game 57-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Academy of the Holy Names also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Academy of the Holy Names had a senior duo take command as Grace Gavin scored 26 points and Lucy Morey scored 16 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Morey has scored at least 25% of Academy of the Holy Names' points. Morgan Hunt was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 12 rebounds.
Keswick Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ava Graham, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. The game was Graham's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Ross, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Keswick Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Academy of the Holy Names only pulled down five.
Academy of the Holy Names' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Keswick Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Academy of the Holy Names will stay at home for another game and welcome Tampa Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Tampa Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Academy of the Holy Names is ranked 30th). As for Keswick Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Tampa Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
