Hamilton Southeastern is 2-8 against Fishers since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Royals will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hamilton Southeastern had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Lawrence Central on Monday. The Royals were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bears. The Royals not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 17-1).

Tyler Sarver looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hamilton Southeastern is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddux Bach, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 5th. Jackson Bixler was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
Hamilton Southeastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Fishers faced Westfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Shamrocks.
Owen Lukac looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mayo Fernandez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jase Ruggles, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Hamilton Southeastern's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Fishers, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hamilton Southeastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fishers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hamilton Southeastern couldn't quite finish off Fishers in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
