After flying high against the Stafford Trojans back in December of 2023, the Otis-Bison Cougars came back down to earth. The New Year welcomed Otis-Bison with a 67-38 whooping from Victoria on Friday. Otis-Bison has struggled against Victoria recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Victoria's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennidy Amrein, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Amrein scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Emma Dinkel, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
Otis-Bison's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Victoria, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Otis-Bison will square off against Kinsley on Tuesday. Kinsley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Victoria won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Golden Plains on January 6th.
