Dexter is 1-7 against Ruidoso since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Demons will welcome the Warriors at 6:00 p.m.
On Thursday, Dexter didn't have quite enough to beat Tularosa and fell 3-2.
Dexter actually scored more points across those five sets (110-106), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-24, 20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13.
Despite their defeat, Dexter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Melody Duran, who had ten kills, seven digs, and one block, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Emily DeLaRosa, who had three digs, two aces, and one block.
Meanwhile, Ruidoso waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 3-1.
The win didn't come easy: New Mexico Military Institute scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 27-25, 19-25, 25-20.
Ruidoso's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Dexter, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
