The Desert Hills Thunder entered their tilt with the Hurricane Tigers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Desert Hills took down Hurricane 70-52 on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Desert Hills, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Desert Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Allred, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Allred's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jackson Holman was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Rj Hurst and Calan Hughes certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Hurst scored 15 points, while Hughes scored eight points along with 16 rebounds. Hurst scored a full 28.8% of Hurricane's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Houston Homer, who scored ten points.
Desert Hills pushed their record up to 9-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Hurricane, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Coincidentally, Desert Hills and Hurricane will both be playing Crimson Cliffs the next time they take the court. Desert Hills will head out to face Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hurricane will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
