The Florence Gophers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 29 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 60-19 win over Palo Verde at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Florence.
Florence had a senior duo take command as Mckayla Carletello scored 13 points along with seven assists and five steals and Aubrey Farmer scored 11 points along with six steals. Carletello set a new season high mark in points with 13. Another player making a difference was E.C. Turk-Francis, who scored ten points.
The win got Florence back to even at 4-4. As for Palo Verde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florence will take on Wickenburg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palo Verde, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pueblo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Pueblo's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
