Basketball Game Preview: Coram Deo Academy Lions vs. Midland Christian Mustangs

The Coram Deo Academy Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Midland Christian Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Coram Deo Academy sitting on 15 straight victories and Midland Christian on three.

Coram Deo Academy will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Grace Prep on Tuesday. Coram Deo Academy blew past Grace Prep, posting a 63-30 win. Coram Deo Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coram Deo Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Revering, who went 11 of 21 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. Those 24 points gave Revering a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Selah Johnson, who posted 13 points along with eight assists and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Midland Christian hadn't done well against Trinity Christian recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Midland Christian was the clear victor by a 56-35 margin over Trinity Christian. The Mustangs is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the nine matchup they've won by 20+ points or more this season.

Coram Deo Academy's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.5 points. As for Midland Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Coram Deo Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Midland Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win.
