The Rio Hondo Prep Kares will venture away from home to square off against the Brentwood School Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rio Hondo Prep comes in on eight and Brentwood School on four.
Rio Hondo Prep's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Viewpoint's usually-dominant defense. The Kares blew past the Patriots 41-10. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.

Rio Hondo Prep had a senior duo take command as Noah Penunuri rushed for 79 yards and two scores on only six carries and Nathaniel Shine rushed for 61 yards and a pair of TDs. Penunuri has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Rio Hondo Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Calogero Chico and Landon Scott.
Meanwhile, while Brentwood School put up plenty of points last Friday, the same can't be said for Centennial. The Eagles took their contest with ease, bagging a 33-0 victory over the Apaches. Give the Eagles' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.
Rio Hondo Prep better focus on containing Ben Mikail and Brendan Bowman as the pair were huge in Brentwood School's win. Mikail threw for 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Bowman rushed for 81 yards and two TDs. What's more, Mikail racked up 19 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.
Rio Hondo Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Brentwood School, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Saturday's game might be decided in the trenches. Rio Hondo Prep has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 277.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Brentwood School, though, as they've been averaging only 90.6 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Rio Hondo Prep took their win against Brentwood School in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 42-22 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kares since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
