There's no place like home for the Coweta Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 67-62 victory over McAlester on Saturday. Given Coweta's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while McAlester is ranked 322nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noah Cooper went supernova for Coweta, scoring 14 points along with seven assists. Coulton Pierce was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Coweta's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for McAlester, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Coweta and Holland Hall will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for McAlester, they will head out on the road to take on Edison at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edison will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
