The Coastal Christian Centurions won the last time they faced the John Paul II Catholic Saints, and things went their way on Friday too. Coastal Christian walked away with a 48-36 victory over John Paul II Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Coastal Christian.
Coastal Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Davies out in front who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Martin, who scored 15 points.
John Paul II Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamal Biggs, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Connor Kendrick was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Coastal Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for John Paul II Catholic, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coastal Christian and Arendell Parrott Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Arendell Parrott Academy has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for John Paul II Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cape Fear Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
