You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Rocky Mountain Lobos's strategy against the Poudre Impalas on Tuesday. Rocky Mountain strolled past the Impalas with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rocky Mountain.
Morgen Delap had a dynamite game for Rocky Mountain, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Delap has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Meela Delap, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Poudre lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kavi Voglund. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Voglund is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaqueline Forrest, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Poudre struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rocky Mountain racked up 14 assists.
Rocky Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Poudre, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain will face off against the Lightning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Legacy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Poudre, they will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
