Baseball Recap: Castro Valley Beats Hayward for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Castro Valley had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They blew past the Hayward Farmers 11-0. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Braden Spade was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and one triple while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Ryan Autio was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Castro Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hayward, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Castro Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Tesoro on the 9th. As for Hayward, they have also already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Arroyo on the 9th.
