After a string of three wins, the Pinecrest Glades Academy Dragons's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost to BridgePrep Village Green on the road by a decisive 66-50 margin. If Pinecrest Glades Academy hoped to take revenge for the 82-51 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the defeat, Pinecrest Glades Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ronnie Rivero scored 16 points along with two steals. Rivero has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Diaz, who scored six points along with six assists and three steals.
Pinecrest Glades Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for BridgePrep Village Green, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Pinecrest Glades Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Downtown Doral at 3:30 p.m. on January 24th. Downtown Doral knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Pinecrest Glades Academy likes a good challenge. As for BridgePrep Village Green, they will stay at home for another game and welcome International Studies at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
