Cloudland has gone a perfect 7-0 against Hampton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Highlanders will challenge the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m.

Cloudland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Greene, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Highlanders fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 9-7 on Thursday. The Highlanders have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hampton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past Unaka 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 4th.

Briley Davis spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Malory Lamb, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lauren Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hampton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.

Hampton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cloudland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

Cloudland took their win against Hampton in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
