Basketball Recap: First Coast Christian Takes a Loss

First Coast Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 48-38 to the Covenant School of Jacksonville Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-21 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, First Coast Christian still got an impressive performance from Skylar Hudson, who posted 28 points. That was a full 73.7% of First Coast Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Leading Covenant School of Jacksonville to victory were Callie Seltz and Charis O'Dell. Seltz almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds, while O'Dell put up 15 points along with eight boards and three steals. O'Dell has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Johnson, who had two points and nine boards.

First Coast Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Covenant School of Jacksonville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

First Coast Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-36 defeat against Impact Christian Academy on the 16th. Covenant School of Jacksonville has also already played their next game, a 39-22 loss against First Baptist Christian Academy on the 17th.
