Tyrone moved up to 249 from 286 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mountain. The Golden Eagles were able to make move up by besting Central Mountain 26-18.
Clearfield extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bald Eagle Area, 49-8. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Bison.
Austin Cunningham and Austin Cunningham gave Central a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Cunningham threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns, while Cunningham ran for 137 yards. Bradi Moore also contributed to the rushing game with 123 yards on the ground.
Trey Jordan was the best wideout in the league this week as Clearfield defeated the Bald Eagles. Jordan racked up two receptions for 159 yards. Dylan Graham helped Clearfield's passing attack out by catching one ball for 36 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Cunningham of the Dragons is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1124. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Tyrone's James Oliver has rushed for 1339 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan. The Clearfield star has 23 catches for 802 yards.
The Bison's Christian Lezzer needs only 96 yards against Philipsburg-Osceola next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 145 carries Lezzer has accumulated 904 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Penns Valley Area takes on the Golden Eagles. As it stands, the Rams are in fifth, while Tyrone is in third.
Central took down Bellefonte 70-15 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cunningham in the win.
