The Ventura Cougars pushed their score all the way to 66 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Oxnard 70-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (58), Ventura still had to take the loss.
Ventura's loss came despite strong showings from Caleb Sebek and Finn Fancher. Sebek went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assist, while Fancher dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sebek has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Valenzuela, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Ventura has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Oxnard, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-5.
Ventura does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oxnard also has no future games currently scheduled.
