The Oak Park-River Forest Huskies will be home for the holidays to greet the Hinsdale Central Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Oak Park-River Forest and five for Hinsdale Central.
Last Tuesday, Oak Park-River Forest came up short against Regina Dominican and fell 38-29.
Oak Park-River Forest's loss came about despite a quality game from Taylor Smith, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Hinsdale Central also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Downers Grove North by a score of 58-46. While losing is never fun, Hinsdale Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Downers Grove North is ranked 56th).
Oak Park-River Forest's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Hinsdale Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Oak Park-River Forest might still be hurting after the 50-25 defeat they got from Hinsdale Central in their previous matchup back in February.
