South Webster and Wheelersburg are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2020, but not for long. The Jeeps will head out to take on the Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Wheelersburg will be up against a hot South Webster squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Jeeps' way against Portsmouth West on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win.
While South Webster won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-18, 25-12.

South Webster can attribute much of their success to Kinley Horner, who had 14 digs, and Emma Campbell, who had five digs and two aces. What's more, Campbell racked up six assists, the most she's had over her last eight matchups.
They weren't the only good servers: South Webster was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Wheelersburg made easy work of Waverly on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.
Wheelersburg's got stronger as the match went on, holding Waverly to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-16.
South Webster better keep an eye on Mylee Gleim. She was instrumental in Wheelersburg's win, getting 14 digs and one assist. Mati Jennings also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
South Webster's record now sits at 12-7. As for Wheelersburg, their record is now 14-3.
South Webster might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Wheelersburg in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Jeeps avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
