It was a good run, but Providence Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Austin Royals HomeSchool Royals. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Rams came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while the Royals are ranked 890th).

Providence Prep's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2. As for Austin Royals HomeSchool, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Prep and Texas Wind will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Texas Wind has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Austin Royals HomeSchool, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on La Joya at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th.
